As a mainstream funds manager, the core belief driving our decision to include ESG analysis in our investment process is that companies cognisant of ESG issues may represent opportunities for outperformance and correspondingly those that do not could experience underperformance.
ESG issues are considered during both our initial Risk Screening stage and as 1 of the 6 qualitative factors used to value companies.

Solaris operates under an internal ESG Policy and is a UN PRI signatory. As a signatory we will:
– incorporate ESG issues into our investment analysis and decision-making processes.
– be active owners and incorporate ESG issues into our ownership policies and practices.
– seek appropriate disclosure on ESG issues by the entitles in which we invest.
– promote acceptance and implementation of the Principles within the investment industry.
– work to enhance our effectiveness in implementing the Principles.
– report on our activities and progress towards implementing the Principles.
